Dr Kumar completed his dermatology fellowship in India. Subsequently he conducted research at the Skin and Cancer foundation, Sydney. He undertook his dermatology training at Liverpool, St Vincents, Prince of Wales and Liverpool Hospitals before passing his fellowship (FACD) exams.
