Photodynamic Therapy

For:

• Superficial BCC
• Bowens disease (Squamous cell carcinoma-in-situ)
• Field Actinic Keratoses or sunspots

This is a non-surgical treatment for field actinic keratosis, and selected superficial skin cancers (sBCC, Bowens disease), usually avoiding  or minimising the scar of conventional surgery. A photosensitising cream is applied for three hours to the tumour site  under occlusion. The tumour site is then exposed to a specialised light for about ten minutes, which activates the absorbed cream to create chemical reactions that selectively destroys the tumour cells
